Last week, we took a look at the roots of AtWork, and this week, as 2020 comes to an end, we want to explore the future of AtWork and the staffing industry as a whole. Here are three of the top trends we expect to be important in 2021:

Diversity and Inclusion

Though diversity and inclusion has been a hot topic for several years now, 2020 brought a sense of urgency to the topic that we expect to continue through 2021. In the wake of the widespread protests that happened this year, consumers are increasingly demanding improved D&I efforts from brands and companies, so companies will be more likely to ask recruiters and staffing companies to help them diversify their employee teams.

Virtual Recruiting

While vaccines for COVID-19 have begun becoming available, it may be a while before anyone who wants the vaccine will be able to get it. Once the effects of the pandemic begin to decrease with the help of the vaccines, virtual recruiting will likely become less prevalent. However, many recruiters and staffing agencies will probably keep it as an option for the sake of convenience.

Increased Focus on Customer Service for Clients

The economy and hiring have both taken a hard hit in 2020, which pushed many companies to place a larger emphasis on client retention, rather than acquisition. Client needs changed rapidly and drastically in 2020, and, with the arrival of vaccines, those needs will likely face more changes in 2021. As a result, customer service will remain a hot topic in the coming year.
